Apple’s Latest iOS Feature for Web Push Notifications
Apple’s latest release of iOS and iPadOS introduces a feature that allows web apps added to your device’s home screen to send mobile web push notifications. Compatible websites like PACZKI can now function much like dedicated iOS apps, offering instant push notifications, a dedicated app icon, quick loading, and a clean interface without the URL bar.
How to Install PACZKI as an iOS App:
Note: Please delete any prior PACZKI apps from your phone before proceeding.
- Launch the Safari browser on your mobile Apple device running iOS 17.4.1 or higher. (Older versions of iOS may not be compatible.)
- Visit PACZKI.co.
- Tap the Share button in Safari’s toolbar.
- Choose the Add to Home Screen option from the share menu.
- Save the PACZKI app to your device’s home screen.
- Locate the PACZKI app icon on your home screen and open it.
- Log in to your PACZKI account.
- To receive push notifications, make sure to subscribe by clicking the subscribe button (a native permission prompt will appear).
That’s it! You’re all set to start receiving instant notifications!
Troubleshooting Push Notifications:
Since iOS web notifications are a new feature, you might encounter issues with PACZKI’s functionality if certain settings are not enabled. If you’re not receiving push notifications, follow these steps:
- Navigate to your PACZKI preferences.
- Click on Notifications.
- Disable and then re-enable notifications.
- If you receive a confirmation of push notifications, that means the fix worked! If not, feel free to contact @administrators for assistance.
If You’re Still Having Issues:
- Open your device’s Settings.
- Scroll down and select Safari.
- Continue scrolling to the bottom and tap Advanced.
- At the bottom, access Feature Flags.
- Locate Notifications settings and ensure they are turned ON.
If you’re still not receiving notifications, ensure that Live Notifications are enabled in your PACZKI preferences. This feature is only compatible with devices running iOS 17.4.1 or later.
